Chili Cook-Off Rules

Location: Auglaize County Fairgrounds, 1001 Fairview Dr., Wapakoneta, OH 45895
Date: Saturday, September 24, 2021
Start: Miller Building opens at 6 AM

Chili can be prepared at your campsite or in the Miller Building as early as 7 AM

Check In: 9 AM Registration deadline: 10 AM
Registration: You need to be registered and at your table by 10 AM
Judging and Tasting Time: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM
End Time: 1 PM (votes will be counted)

Health Code: Chili must reach 165 degrees at some point during the cooking process. Committee members will be around to periodically check the temperature. Once your chili has been approved for temperature, you may turn it down to a temperature of your liking. All perishable ingredients must be in the chili prior to tasting.

Preparation: The chili can be cooked at your campsite or in the Miller Building starting at 7 AM

Heat Source: You are responsible for providing your own heat source. Multiple electric outlets will be available. Please provide your own heavy duty extension cord if needed. Open flamed cooking must be self-contained.

Sampling: There will be a $4.00 fee for the public to sample the chili. The fee includes a cup, a spoon and judging rights.

Judging: Done by the public

Awards: 1st and 2nd place trophy awards at 1 PM

Clean Up: Please be courteous and clean your area when the event is completed.
