We’re so excited to be hosting Wiener Dog Races at this year’s Auglaize County Fair!
Elimination races will be raced beginning at 5 PM on Monday July 21st. The top dog final heat will be raced for the $250 grand prize package on Wednesday, August 2nd after the last harness race of the evening (approximately 8:30 PM).
A $10 pre-registration fee per dog must be delivered to the Auglaize County Agricultural Society by July 15th. Entry fees are non-refundable as they are used for event costs.

Competing dogs must be a certified wiener dog, your dog DOES NOT have to be AKC or AKA registered/certified. Please bring your dog’s shot records that clearly indicates “dachshund” breed. Mix breeds are not permitted. Judges have the right to disqualify any questionable or mixed breed.
All race dogs must have a current rabies vaccine. Please bring verification with you on race day.
You may register more than one dog, a $10 pre-registration fee is required for EACH dog.
Races are divided by random draw.
Only dogs entering the race are permitted on the grounds and in the race track area.
Only two people per dog are permitted in the race track area, one person at the start and one at the finish.
A starting gate will be utilized and dogs will race off leash.
The racecourse will be 30 yards long.
Races will be held rain or shine.
Dogs must be on their best behavior. Any dog showing aggression or fighting will be asked to leave and may not be permitted to race.
Owners must be in control of their dog at all times. Do not leave dogs unattended for any reason.
The ACAS reserves the right to close entries before the July 15th deadline if the maximum capacity of 50 dogs is reached.
Please remember that your entry fee does not include gate admission to the fair. You must have a valid pass or pay the regular admission price to enter the fairgrounds for this event.
